Who We Are
Curious Things is a therapy practice for the misfits, the makers, and the people who’ve always felt a little too much or not enough. It’s for the ones who crave both safety and self-expression.
Here, therapy isn’t sterile or one-size-fits-all. It’s curious, creative, affirming, and built around the idea that you don’t need to be fixed, you need to be explored.
Meet the founder
Founder · Therapist · Performer · Creative Human
Hi, I’m Rae! Owner and founder of Curious Things.
I’m a queer, neurodivergent therapist with a background in both mental health care and the performing arts. Before I became a therapist, I lived a lot of lives: actor, clown, professor, strawberry picker, teaching artist — you name it. All of those experiences taught me how deeply creativity, resilience, and play connect to healing.
In the therapy room, I bring curiosity, empathy, and creativity into every session. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are: the messy parts, the brilliant parts, the parts still unfolding.
I work with:
LGBTQIA+ and gender expansive individuals
Neurodivergent folks (especially ADHD, Autism, AuDHD)
Mixed-neurotype couples & relationships (poly/ENM, chosen family, adult siblings)
People navigating trauma, identity shifts, and career overwhelm
Creatives, performers, and “intellectualizers” who want to feel, not just think

Our Beliefs
Therapy should feel like sitting with someone who’s genuinely curious about you — not like a cold, clinical checklist. We use an integrated approach that blends traditional talk therapy with Brainspotting, creative expression, and community-informed care.
At Curious Things, we always stand for:
-
Radical inclusivity
Every identity, every body, every neurotype and ability is welcome.
-
Authentic expression
You don’t need to shrink or mask, here. Whatever way you show up, you’re safe.
-
Creative Exploration
Healing doesn’t have to happen in straight lines or only through words.
-
Community & Connection
We foster connection so you can remember that you’re not alone.

A Note From Rae
I value curiosity, empathy, & creativity our work together. With an integrated model, I use somatic, Brainspotting, feminist, IFS, PACT, & creative interventions.
(Ah! Rae, why all the therapy words?! Don’t worry, it just means we explore thoughts & emotions through the body & mind. Sometimes moving, drawing, talking, or considering social/political factors)
Ready to explore the deep components of who you are?
Grab your emotional water bottle and come have a seat on my couch (or the floor, you do you).
I see a variety of clients in Maryland and DC, and cannot wait to learn more about who you are.
